When we first launched Eagle Direct in 2007, (sister company of Medical House) we compiled a collection of quotes that we liked and sent them to customers, suppliers and friends.  The response was amazing – everybody likes quotes!  We called that book, “Do or do not, there is no try.”

 

Two years later we launched Medical House Ltd, revised the quote book with a few new ones and gave the quote book away as we met our new customers.  Again the response was amazing, and we would get calls from customers, their patients and all sorts of people asking for another copy… until we ran out!

 

So we have gathered another book load of quotes that has been collected over the intervening years and produced this new edition in your hands… 

 

The wise, funny, sad, impertinent, knowing words of others seem to resonate with us as we often nod our heads in agreement with what has been said.  The wise men and women have managed to put into a sentence what we understand to be true. 

 

The title of this book comes from the first quote, “Nobody trips over mountains – it is the small pebbles that cause you to stumble.  Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you’ve crossed over the mountain.” 

 

There are many quotations within this book that have shaped the formation of our company.  The main thoughts from these and the beliefs we have as a team have been encapsulated in our Core Values which we have listed at the back of the book.  Therefore, it is fitting that the last quote in the book is our 10th Core Value – “Live long and prosper.”  Our wish for you also.
